The University of Siena (UNISI) is one of the oldest European Universities. It has a rich history and a great knowledge-related tradition, as well a strong commitment to both research and innovation. In the eight centuries since its foundation, the University of Siena has generated knowledge in all fields of study The University of Siena is ranked among the top Italian Universities both for teaching and research. The Centre for the Study of Political Change (CIRCAP), operating within the Dipartimento di Scienze Storiche, Giuridiche, Politiche e Sociali, is a leading research Center in European studies, Public Opinion and Elite Studies. It not only participated in many national and international research projects but it also has a consolidated experience in the management of large-scale European projects, such as INTUNE Project (a 4 million euros Integrated Project, which was financed under the EU 6th framework), the European Citizens Consultation (under the Plan D of the DG Communication) and EuroPolis (a 2.5 million euros Integrated Project under the EU 7th framework). Both projects are indeed a good example of the scientific and coordinating capacities of CIRCAP. CIRCaP also provides scientific advice to several international projects, such as the Transatlantic Trend Survey, the Transatlantic Trend Survey on Immigration and the European Elite Survey.
