Sabancı University (SU) in Istanbul is ranked as one of the top five universities in Turkey. Established in 1996, SU is a research-oriented institution located in Istanbul, comprising three Schools, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), the Faculty of Management (FMAN), composed of non-departmental, interdisciplinary programs. The language of instruction at SU is English. Since its establishment in 1999, many national and international research projects have been conducted in cooperation with various national and international institutions. SU is a research-oriented University and composed of non-departmental, interdisciplinary programs. SU has 46 FP7 projects, 5 JM European Module and 1 JM Chair, 2 JM Chair ad personam and 1JM Centre of Excellence. SU research programs are organized and managed through the Research and Graduate Policy (RGP) Directorate. RGP carries out planning, development and management of research projects. SU currently has 171 full-time faculty, out of which 150 (88%) received their PhD abroad and 24% of the faculty members are female.
