The University of Edinburgh (UEDIN) is one of Europe’s leading centres for research and teaching on the EU. Its expertise is located both in Politics and International Relations and the School of Law. The Europa Institute, a teaching and research centre in the University dedicated to EU studies, is the longest-established such centre in the UK. A diverse range of funded research projects on the EU are underway at Edinburgh, including ‘Multilateralism and the EU in the Contemporary Global Order’ (MERCURY), funded under FP7 for a total of nearly €2 million over 3 years, and for which Edinburgh is the lead institution of a 9 member consortium (that includes Rome’s IAI).
