Kati Suominen, PhD, re-joined GMF as a resident fellow in February 2010. She is focusing on US and global economic and financial policies. From 2004-2010, Suominen served as Trade Economist at the Inter- American Development Bank in Washington, where she advised senior economic policymakers in the Americas and around the world, managed the Bank’s global and Asia-Pacific trade and economic policy research, and coordinated inter-institutional initiatives with other international institutions, such as the World Trade Organization. In 2008, she also served as advisor to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) senior officials meetings on ways to advance toward the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific. She was selected as a Next Generation Fellow by the American Assembly in 2010.
